Do you like pizza? Do you like Italian sausages? Then you’ll love this keto pizza crust!

Making the perfect keto pizza crust is the true art of the ketogenic diet. When I went looking for this pan pizza recipe, which I found on the A Family Feast website, I didn’t know that the Italian sausage was supposed to be in the crust and not on the whole pizza. But I will say it was a brilliant idea!

Does it taste like sausage?

YES! This recipe is a must if you love sausages! And all the toppings complement the Italian flavor so wonderfully that I wouldn’t want to miss any.

I strictly followed the original instructions for this recipe and it turned out perfectly. Seriously, I never thought a meat pizza could be as delicious as this baked version!

While I recommend following the recipe from A Family Feast step by step, I have a few very minor changes.

Make sure the onions caramelize

While the crust bakes, begin roasting the spinach, bell pepper, garlic and onion. I really like caramelized onions and I think it makes a big difference when they are well browned. The salty sweetness goes so well with the sweetness of the Italian sausage in the crust!

Bake the top of the crust

Once the crust is fully baked, remove it from the oven to place the pizza crust on top. Turn the oven to broil mode a few minutes beforehand. This will really firm up the crust, making it a solid layer for all fillings and less brittle. Speaking of stuffing…

Do not add too much filling

I don’t want to be picky about the toppings, but the many cheeses and vegetables make the pizza heavier, making the slices less elastic. Still, the pizza was delicious and I didn’t mind the uneven piece, but next time I might not use as much topping.

Give him time to rest before digging

There are several reasons for this: First, to avoid burning your mouth on the hot pizza. But another reason is that once cooled, the discs become firmer and therefore easier to grip. But this step is probably easier said than done, because the pizza smells and tastes so good!
